Montreal police (SPVM) officers fatally shoot a dog in the Saint-Michel neighbourhood on Sunday after reports of its aggressive behaviour.

The incident occurred on at around 4:15 p.m., after officers received multiple 911 calls regarding an aggressive dog that had reportedly escaped from its owner.

The dog allegedly attempted to bite pedestrians near the intersection of Jarry Street and 15e Avenue.

According to the SPVM, officers had no choice to fire in the dog’s direction, who was then fatally wounded.
