Multiple road closures for Montreal this weekend

Mobility Montréal advises road users that major obstructions are expected over the weekend.

HONORÉ-MERCIER BRIDGE / ROUTE 138

Friday 11 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.

  • Contraflow traffic on the Kahnawake Bridge (upstream bridge) – 1 lane in each direction

Note: Access to Airlie Street to R-138 West remains open.

CÔTE-DE-LIESSE ROAD EAST

Friday 10 p.m. to Sunday 8 p.m.

  • In Montreal, complete closure of Côte-de-Liesse Road East, between Devonshire Road and the Décarie interchange.

Detour: access to the A-40 east, exit 68 (Stinson Street), U-turn at Dunkirk Road, Côte-de-Liesse Road West, Devonshire Road, Royalmount Avenue (to A-15 South) and Décarie Boulevard North (to Côte-de-Liesse Road East).

Optional: upstream, via tournebride to Authier Street (under A-40), service to A-40 West and Alexis-Nihon and Marcel-Laurin Boulevards (R-117 South). Trucks, via Cavendish Boulevard.

Risk of congestion in the area – plan your travels. Work under the responsibility of a private contractor.

Friday 10 p.m. to Saturday 11:59 p.m.

  • In Montreal, partial closure of Côte-de-Liesse Road East (1 lane open) at Lucerne Road, after the Décarie interchange.

Work under the responsibility of Hydro-Québec.

LAVIOLETTE BRIDGE / HIGHWAY 55

Sunday 6 p.m. to Thursday 6:30 a.m.

  • Between Trois-Rivières and Bécancour, closure of 2 lanes out of 4 – one lane in each direction.

Track width: 3.2 m

Default:

      • In Trois-Rivières on the A-55 North, closure of exit 181 (R-138, Notre-Dame Street, Gene-H.-Kruger Boulevard)
      • Closure of Arthur-Rousseau Boulevard to A-55 South, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
      • In Bécancour, closure of the A30 east and west access roads / Godefroy Avenue / R-132 to the A-55 north

A second period of intensive work is planned from 3 to 7 August. Users coming from Montreal or Quebec City are invited to plan their trips accordingly if they wish to cross from one side of the St. Lawrence River to the other, via highways 20 or 40.

  • Closure of the bridge and its accesses, Thursday between 8 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. – fireworks. Note Victoria Bridge, the two-lane configuration toward the South Shore only extended until 11:30 p.m

REMINDER — Bonaventure Expressway sector

  • Closure of access from Chemin de la Pointe-Nord / Boulevard de l’Île-des-Sœurs / Rue Jacques-Leber to A-10 West / downtown until September. Detour via A-15 north / exit 60 to Gaétan-Laberge Boulevard
  • Peel Basin / Victoria Bridge level, closure of 1 out of 3 lanes in each direction until December
  • On the Clément Bridge, traffic in the opposite direction – 1 lane in each direction – until December

RÉSEAU EXPRESS MÉTROPOLITAIN – REM

  • Complete closure of the REM until August 17, 2025 – several works to allow the network to be put into service next time. Many travel options are available to users who need to travel between the South Shore and downtown Montreal.
