Montreal-area man arrested after allegedly drugging his coworkers

A man who allegedly drugged several of his coworkers without their consent has been arrested by police on Montreal’s North Shore.

Blainville police allege he caused his coworkers to experience symptoms of dizziness, blurred vision, and weakness after administering harmful substances to people in his “professional circle in the industrial sector.”

The suspect was arrested July 30, Blainville police said in a post on social media Tuesday.

Police searched the accused’s home and allegedly seized the following:

  • More than 15,000 tablets believed to be methamphetamine
  • Approximately 200 grams of pink powder believed to be methamphetamine
  • 45 grams of rock-like substances believed to be methamphetamine
  • 60 grams of white powder believed to be cocaine;
  • 30 grams of cannabis

Thanh-Tung Van is accused of administering a noxious substance and possession for the purpose of trafficking. He remains in custody and is set to appear at the Saint-Jérôme courthouse on Wednesday.

The investigation is ongoing. Police are warning the public that administering substances to people without their consent is a serious criminal offence.
