Teen motorcyclist dies after collision in Quebec City

An 18-year-old motorcyclist has died after a collision on Thursday afternoon in Quebec City.

The incident occurred shortly before 3:40 p.m. near the Félix-Leclerc motorway and Route de Fossambault, according to Quebec City police (SPVQ).

Authorities have not released any details about the circumstances leading up to the collision.

All that is known is that the young motorcyclist suffered injuries that were “considered critical” before succumbing to them.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash was hospitalized for shock and “injuries that are not life-threatening,” according to the SPVQ.

A security perimeter has been set up in the area, resulting in the closure of Fossambault Road southbound between Rang des Mines and the Félix-Leclerc Highway ramp.

An investigation is underway to better understand what happened.
