Motorcyclist dies after collision with pole in Lanaudière

A motorcyclist died late Monday afternoon after losing control of his vehicle and colliding with a power pole in Saint-Roch-Ouest, in the Lanaudière region.

Emergency services were called around 4 p.m. in connection with a motorcyclist’s crash, explained Camille Savoie, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

The driver reportedly lost control of his motorcycle on a curve in Rang de la Rivière Nord before striking a power pole.

Resuscitation procedures were performed on the victim, who was subsequently transported to a hospital, where he was sadly pronounced dead.

A police officer trained in collision investigation conducted an analysis of the scene to try to understand the circumstances surrounding the accident.

The road was closed while the scene was analyzed. The investigation is ongoing.
