Montreal police investigating shots fired in Saint-Leonard

Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating after several shots were fired late Tuesday evening in Montreal’s Saint-Leonard borough.
At around 11:35 p.m., police received a 911 call concerning more than one gunshot heard at the intersection of Liénart and La Dauversière streets.
“When the police arrived on the scene they didn’t locate any victims or any suspects,” said Caroline Chèvrefils, public relations officer for the SPVM. “More than one shell casings were found on the ground.”
According to initial information, the SPVM explained that one or more suspects opened fire before fleeing.
A perimeter has been set up to protect and analyze the scene, and the SPVM’s canine unit was dispatched.
No arrests have been made so far, an investigation is ongoing.
