The groundbreaking Broadway musical Hamilton has arrived in Montreal, bringing its signature mix of hip-hop, R&B, and historical storytelling to the city.
Known for its innovative blend of modern music with the story of America’s Founding Fathers, Hamilton is considered one of the most popular musicals of the past decade.
Now playing at Montreal’s Place des Arts, the production continues to captivate audiences with its high-energy performances, and unforgettable music.
The show, written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, currently has four productions running simultaneously around the world.

Fun Facts
- It takes ten 53-foot trailers to move Hamilton from city to city
- Between the cast, crew, musicians and managers, there are nearly 85 people working backstage to make every single performance happen
- There are over 350 lighting instruments and over 1,000 light cues in Hamilton — a large number of these are automatic, so the stage managers do not have to call all of them.
- Over 500 work days went into engineering, building, painting and automating the Hamilton set.
- There are over 20 hidden prop boxes around the set.
- The King’s Crown weighs 2.5 lbs and has a microphone hidden inside it.
For Montrealers, the show is a rare chance to experience one of Broadway’s biggest hits up close, without having to travel to New York City.
The musical is running at Place des Arts until Sept. 7.
