Driver dies in Quebec City after crashing into a residence

A driver died after crashing into a residence near the intersection of Quatre-Bourgeois Road and Chanoine-Scott Avenue in the Sainte-Foy–Sillery–Cap-Rouge borough of Quebec City on Sunday.

The incident occurred around 9:45 a.m.

The motorist, a 75-year-old man, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead a few hours later.

The residence was evacuated, and a 49-year-old man was taken by ambulance to a hospital for minor injuries.

The Civil Protection Office was called to the scene to take charge of the occupants and coordinate with partners.

A security perimeter was set up to protect the accident scene.

Investigators from the Quebec City Police Service and technicians from the Forensic Identification Unit are on site to reconstruct the events and determine the causes and circumstances of the accident.
