Emergency services were called on Saturday afternoon, around 4:15 p.m., to Rue de la Rivière in this small municipality of 3,500 inhabitants.

“According to initial reports, the tractor was travelling north when, for reasons yet to be determined, it veered off the road and collided with an oncoming vehicle,” explained Sûreté du Québec (SQ) spokesperson Laurie Avoine.

“Unfortunately, the tractor driver, a 40-year-old man from Saint-Raymond, and the driver of the vehicle, a 71-year-old woman from Portneuf, were pronounced dead at the scene,” said Avoine.
