A night where comedy meets charity on Sept. 27, at the Leonardo Da Vinci Centre. It’s called Comedy for a Cause and it’s sure to have Montrealers laughing.

A comedy night hosted by comedian Joe Cacchione, featuring comedians Gino Durante and Pino Pirillo all in support of the Lighthouse, Montreal’s pediatric palliative care centre dedicated to children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.

“Laughter is important. It’s important. It’s part of our daily life. It’s fantastic. We need to laugh at least ten minutes a day, but not together. Se no, you suffocate. It’s not good,” said Cacchione.

“It’s going to be fantastic. Three comedians. Three comedians together. There is Pino, there’s Gino, and myself together on stage. It’s once in a lifetime.”

Durante saying, “We’re raising funds for children in palliative care at the Lighthouse, but the show’s going to be fantastic. It’s just three unique comedians. We’re going to be doing three languages. We’ve worked together before. Joe Cacchione, Pino Pirillo. So it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Adding, “I talk about my father a lot, and he’s the only one who doesn’t laugh because he doesn’t get it. I talk about him and he’s like, ‘What’s funny?’ But he’s very funny, so natural stories like that always relate to Italians.”

Pirillo added, “Three men from pretty much the same community, but each with different looks at it and different styles of comedy completely, and that’s what really makes it unique.”

A chance to have fun and make a difference, says Carmelo Tortolano, president of Friends 4 Cause, a group of volunteers raising funds for meaningful causes while bringing the community together.

“We still have some seats available. And it would be nice to fill up the theatre. The more people attend, the more money we can donate,” said Tortolano.

Durante saying, “There’s still good tickets left. I think they’re going pretty quickly. They’re $50 and with tariffs it’s $752. But no, $50 you get them on the website. There’s still very good tickets left. And yeah, just come out guys. It’s for a fantastic cause.”

Pirillo added, “Come. Everyone come. Please support. Not only is it going to be a night of laughter and fun, but know that the funds are going to a place that is of great need and will be much appreciated.”

Cacchione saying, “Be there, be there, you’ll enjoy it, and you will give to a good cause.”
