20-year-old man wounded in Saint-Laurent shooting

A 20-year-old man was shot and wounded late Wednesday evening in the Saint-Laurent borough of Montreal.

Police (SPVM) received several 911 calls at 11:30 p.m. reporting gunshots on Côte-Vertu Blvd., near Bégin Street.

When officer arrived on the scene, they located the victim, who had sustained gunshot wounds to his lower body.

The man was transported to hospital, and his life is not considered to be in danger.

Authorities say a damaged vehicle was also found near the victim.

The canine unit was called in to assist in the search for evidence, while officers interviewed witnesses.

The investigation is ongoing.
