If you’ve been considering welcoming a small furry friend into your home, now might be the perfect time.
From today through Sunday, Sept. 28, the Montreal SPCA is waiving adoption fees for all small animals in an effort to find them loving homes.

Currently, the shelter has 32 of these animals looking for families — including rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, and birds.
“By promoting shelter adoption and with people’s support, we will be able to help more animals in need,” the SPCA said in a Facebook post.
Interested adopters can meet the animals at the SPCA:
- Weekdays from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Weekends from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The adoption would be possible with the purchase of the required equipment at the SPCA store, or by providing proof that you already have the equipment at home, the shelter explained.
