Montreal-Trudeau Airport is set to permanently close its multi-level parking lot on Oct. 15 as part of its development plan to modernize the airport’s infrastructure.
Travelers who usually rely on the multi-storey lot for parking and the P5 lot located in front of the terminal will need to explore alternative options onsite, such as nearby P4 parking, which opened in winter 2024 and offers more than 2,800 spaces spread over four floors, Montreal Airport (ADM) explained in a press release.
“Car rental companies serving YUL customers and spaces for people with reduced mobility will also be relocated there,” they added. “Valet and Short-Term parking services will be transferred to HotelParc under the Marriott hotel.”
Travellers who wish to drive to YUL are strongly advised to reserve their parking space online, as ADM said that the number of spaces at the airport will be limited, especially during peak periods.
“Whenever possible, the various public transportation options available are the preferred choice,” they explained.
The permanent closure and demolishing of the multi-level lot and P5 is to make way for the construction of a drop-off area with widened access ramps, as well as a new multi-storey parking lot.
ADM said that these areas will ultimately see their capacity tripled, which will improve traffic flow on the site
“The new multi-level parking, which will offer 6,300 spaces, is expected to be completed in 2031,” they said. “It will have an additional underground level to accommodate 1,200 vehicles.”
