Montreal police deploy mobile command post in Saint-Leonard to help solve a 2023 homicide

The Major Crimes Section of the Montreal Police (SPVM) deployed a mobile command post in Saint-Leonard on Monday to help solve the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man that occurred nearly two years ago.
The victim, Samy Alioueche, was killed on the afternoon of Nov. 30, 2023 while he was in his vehicle on Place de Fontenelle, near Jean-Talon Street.
A passerby discovered his body around 2:15 p.m., and when authorities arrived, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The SPVM had stationed a mobile command post on Monday near the original crime scene, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Investigators were available to speak with members of the public and gather information that could help solve the case.
