Rainfall warning soaks Halloween spirits ahead of cloudy Sunday for Montrealers heading to the polls

Ghosts and goblins will need a raincoat this Halloween while the city continues to face a rainfall warning on Friday — but this wet weather is set to dry up over the weekend as Montrealers head to the polls on Sunday for the municipal elections.
Rain has already begun this morning with amounts of 40 to 60 millimetres expected to fall over the city today, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC).
“Rain will be heavy until early this afternoon and will ease late in the day,” the weather agency said. “Ponding of water is likely on roads and in low-lying areas. Travel delays are possible.”
These conditions are forecasted to be paired with a daytime high of 10°C.
A low of 3°C is then forecasted for the eerie temperature of Halloween night.
Though it’s expected to rain as many go door to door collecting candies on Friday — not to fear as Montreal will still be filled with Halloween spirit on Saturday with many activities planned across the city — and the weather is looking hopeful.
A daytime high of 6°C is in the forecast with cloudy skies.
Come Sunday, Montrealers head to the polls as they prepare to elect their next mayor. On Nov. 2 they can expect cloudy, cool conditions — with temperatures staying steady at 6°C.
Then the first Monday of November looking like it will come with showers and 11°C.
As for now, ECCC forecasting cloudy skies for Tuesday with a daytime high of 7°C.
More clouds on Wednesday and 7°C mixed with a 60 per cent chance of showers.
