LaSalle College students are putting the final touches on the 12th edition of the school’s fashion show, happening Saturday at their Montreal campus.
Conceptualized and produced by fashion marketing students, this year’s show explores the theme Fashion is an Art Form, with over 20 looks crafted by LaSalle’s design students.
“It’s a lot of work,” said Andrew McNally, dean of fashion at LaSalle College. “Within like 10 or 11 weeks, they put on this massive show and it’s quite exhilarating.”

Fashion is an Art Form unfolds in two concepts
The show begins with the theme of “Resonance,” inspired by Montreal’s cityscape, where each model tells a unique artistic story through fashion. It is followed by the concept of “Pulse of Art,” which explores how AI is reshaping creativity in fashion, art and everyday life.
“[AI] has been emerging a lot in the past few years, and we really wanna put light on that, because we believe that there are ways to approach it, and ways that we should avoid as well, so our goal is to really question AI and the arts,” said Yasmine Yanni, fashion marketing student at LaSalle College.

A real-world fashion industry experience
Close to 100 students helped bring the show to life—contributing to everything from planning and visuals, to music, partnerships, casting, and fashion curation.
Vitoria Garcia Pinheiro, another fashion marketing student, led communications for the event.
“I learned a lot,” said Pinheiro. “I did press releases, I’ve talked to the media, and I think everyone in their own roles are learning as much as they can. This is a very good opportunity for us to learn how the real life actually is in the industry when we’re professionals.”
“I’m very proud of how the show is gonna be, how our concepts will come to life, and how everyone worked to make this happen,” she added.
“I’m always very proud of the students because what they do in this class is actually how it is in real life,” said McNally.
“It does feel a bit emotional,” said Yanni. ” like “We’ve worked many, many hours on this, and every person has put a lot of work into this, so to see it coming to life feels a bit surreal.”
