Repair work expected on Mercier Bridge, Highway 30 over weekend

Drivers can expect delays this weekend around the Honoré Mercier Bridge and Highway 30 at Highway 10, as more repair work is expected.

Honoré Mercier Bridge

Transport Quebec says work on the Honoré Mercier Bridge, including the repair of slabs, from November 21 to 24, will require the implementation of a partial obstruction.

Episodes of congestion are to be expected.

The Ministry recommends that road users who will have to travel in the area allow extra time to get to their destination.

Highway 30

Transport Quebec says repairs are going to be made to the expansion joints of the Highway 30 overpass over Highway 10.

Between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, westbound Highway 30 at the N exit ramp 67 — Sherbrooke/Montreal (downtown)/Vermont) — will be closed.

During this time, drivers will be diverted onto a service road before rejoining Highway 30 after the Boulevard de Rome overpass.

There might also be night closures of the Highway 10 westbound service road at Highway 30, including the Highway 30 westbound to Highway 10 westbound ramp and the Highway 10 westbound to Highway 30 eastbound ramp.

Detour routes will be marked with temporary signage.

Drivers are being urged to seek alternate routes if possible.

In the event of poor weather conditions, the repair work might be cancelled or postponed. Drivers are advised to check Québec 511 to plan their trips accordingly.
