Metal object found in Halloween candy: Laval police

Laval police (SPL) launched an investigation after a metal object was discovered inside a piece of Halloween candy collected in the Sainte-Rose area on Oct. 31.

A parent contacted 911 on Nov. 25 when his daughter found the object embedded in a strawberry-shaped gummy that had come in a partially opened wrapper, with part of the candy missing.

The family had gone trick-or-treating in the Champfleury neighbourhood, notably on De Chardonneret, Bouvreuil, De la Volière, Des Huards, Des Bécasseaux and Du Passerin streets.

Laval police are urging the public to carefully check all Halloween treats.
