Montreal police’s (SPVM) arson squad is investigating a second fire at the same private residence in the Ahunstic-Cartierville borough.
Police say they responded to a 911 call at 12:30 a.m. and put out a fire on a garage door of a house on Beau-Bois Ave. near Beau-Bois Crescent. Firefighters were also on the scene.
There were people inside the house when the incident happened, but no one was injured. There was some damage to the garage door.
“There was some accelerant that was found on the scene,” Jeanne Drouin, spokesperson for the SPVM said.
The arson squad is expected to be on the scene to interview witnesses and examine camera footage.

The overnight incident was the second event to occur in the same building, according to Drouin.
On Nov 26, at around 10:20 p.m. SPVM received another 911 call about a car on fire in the driveway of the same building.
The Montreal Fire Department (SIM) quickly brought the fire under control. There was minor damage to the vehicle. No one was injured.
“According to initial information obtained, at least one suspect was seen fleeing the scene before the police arrived,” Drouin said.
Investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made in either incident.
