Two arrested after early-morning arson in St-Leonard

Montreal police arrested two men after an early-morning arson at a forklift dealer business in St-Leonard.

Fire crews were called to the scene around 4:10 a.m. after a blaze broke out in a building on Metropolitan Blvd. between Louis-Vanier and Aimé-Renaud streets. The fire department quickly brought the situation under control.

According to police, two suspects allegedly smashed a window and threw an incendiary object inside the building. Officers arrested two males, aged 17 and 18, a short time later. They were transported to a detention centre to meet with investigators.

No injuries were reported and damages are considered minor.

Montreal’s arson squad is now leading the investigation.
