Two men were wounded by gunfire Sunday around midnight in Vieux-Longueuil on Montreal’s South Shore in what police are treating as an attempted murder.
Officers with the police de l’agglomération de Longueuil (SPAL) were called to an apartment on Beauregard Street after reports of shots fired. The two victims, both in their 30s, were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds. Police say their injuries are not life-threatening.
A 26-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene and is expected in court Tuesday.
According to police, the victims were not randomly targeted and were known to authorities. On Monday morning, officers remained at the scene as they continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
