Frigid Sunday gives way to snow, then milder temperatures in Montreal

Montrealers woke up to mainly sunny skies Sunday, but the cold remained firmly in place, with daytime highs hovering near minus –13 Celsius and wind chills making it feel closer to minus –24 C.

Clear conditions are expected to continue overnight, with temperatures dropping to around minus –20 C and wind chills nearing minus –27 C.

Clouds move in Monday, bringing periods of light snow beginning in the morning.

The daytime high is forecast to reach minus –14 C, with wind chills around minus –26 C. Overnight temperatures are expected to dip to minus –13 C.

Snow continues into Tuesday, with a daytime high near minus –8 C. Temperatures are expected to hold steady overnight before a gradual warm-up begins midweek.

Wednesday is forecast to remain cloudy, with temperatures climbing to about minus –2 C and a low near minus –4 C.

Looking ahead to the end of the week, temperatures are expected to rise above the freezing mark. Both Thursday and Friday are forecast to bring cloud cover and periods of rain, with highs reaching about 5 C by Friday.
