Snow and cold give way to milder, wetter conditions in Montreal

Residents can expect a wintry start to the week as cloud cover thickens today, bringing periods of snow and accumulations of 2 to 4 centimetres. Winds will remain light, but bitter cold will dominate, with a high near minus –13 celsius and wind chill values dipping to minus –24 C.

Light snow will taper off near midnight tonight, followed by cloudy skies and a chance of flurries. Temperatures will hold steady near minus –12 C. Tuesday remains mostly cloudy with occasional flurries and a high of minus –7 C, before snow returns Tuesday night.

Snow continues through Wednesday with daytime highs climbing slightly to minus –2 C, followed by quieter but still cloudy conditions Wednesday night. A mix of sun and cloud arrives Thursday as temperatures rise above freezing for the first time this week, reaching plus +2 C.

By Friday, a significant shift in the weather pattern brings rain and much milder air, with highs near 7 C degrees. Rain continues into Saturday before tapering off as a rain-snow mix overnight. Cooler air returns Sunday, with cloudy skies and a chance of flurries and a high near minus –1 C.
