43-year-old man stabbed at Montreal metro station

A 43-year-old man was injured after being stabbed at a metro station in the Ville-Marie borough Friday morning, according to the police.

Montreal police (SPVM) received 911 calls at around 9:25 a.m. reporting a man with stab wounds at the Place des arts metro station.

When police officers arrived at the scene, they found the man with injuries to his upper body. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening wounds.

“According to initial reports, an altercation between the victim and several of the suspects took place in the Saint-Laurent metro station,” said Jeanne Drouin, SPVM spokesperson.

The suspects fled before the police arrived. No arrests have been made.

While the metro service was not affected, the Saint-Laurent metro station remained closed during the investigation.
