Two injured in collision involving STM bus on Route 136 in Montreal

A car going in the wrong direction collided with an STM bus early Saturday morning, injuring both the drivers.

Sûreté du Québec (SQ) officers responded to a 911 call around 2:30 a.m. following the collision on Route 136 East, near Westmount.

“According to initial reports, the driver of the car was travelling in the wrong direction before colliding with the bus,” SQ spokesperson Elizabeth Marquis-Guy said. “The bus driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.”

There were no passengers in the bus at the time of the incident.

The driver of the car — a man in his 50s — was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but his life is no longer in danger.

Route 136 was closed for several hours. SQ investigators were on the site of the collision to analyze the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
