SQ and RCMP conducting a raid against organization linked to Hells Angels

More than 160 police officers were deployed Wednesday morning in Quebec and New Brunswick as part of a raid targeting a criminal organization linked to the Hells Angels.
According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the criminal organization in question “is active in cocaine distribution and territory management for the benefit of the Hells Angels of the various chapters in Quebec.”
Provincial police say the raids began early in the morning across unidentified municipalities in Quebec and New Brunswick.There are about 20 locations across Quebec involved.
SQ were monitoring several addresses since early this morning in Sainte-Thérèse, there has been significant action, including a canine unit and support from multiple police forces.
The National Organized Crime Enforcement Squad is leading the series of raids underway Wednesday morning. Several municipal police forces, as well as the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, are involved in the operation.
This is part of a larger strategy, there have already been previous phases. Police are meeting with individuals at the various locations and speaking with them, after which those individuals are expected to be released.
The SQ has announced that a report on this operation will be made public in the coming days.
No arrests have been made yet.
Ian lafrenière, the Minister of Public Security, posted to social media to thank police officers for maintaining pressure on organized crime.
The provincial police force reiterated that the National Organized Crime Enforcement Squad has a mandate to target “specifically the leading figures” of organized crime.
