Cold, snowy stretch settles in Montreal

Winter is reminding residents it’s far from finished, as snow and persistent cold settle in for the days ahead.
Clouds thicken today with light snow developing late this afternoon as temperatures reach a high of minus–9 celsius. Winds stay light at up to 15 km/h, though wind chills dip to minus–24 C this morning before easing to minus–14 C later in the day.
Snow continues tonight, bringing 2 to 4 cm of accumulation and a low near minus–11 C, with wind chills around minus–18 C.
Saturday sees lingering light snow and local blowing snow ending near noon, followed by mostly cloudy skies. Gusty northwest winds up to 40 km/h will push temperatures downward, falling to minus–15 C by afternoon, with wind chills near minus–23 C.
Cold but calmer conditions arrive Saturday night with a low of minus–18 C. Skies clear Sunday, though temperatures remain below seasonal norms with a high of minus–14 C. Sunshine dominates Monday, offering a brief warm-up to minus–7 C.
Clouds increase again Tuesday with a chance of flurries overnight, before more widespread snow returns by midweek as temperatures gradually moderate.
