Two arrested for attempted murder in Plateau shooting

A 32-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman were arrested on Thursday in Terrebonne for an attempted murder of a 24-year-old man.

The victim was shot in the early hours of Wednesday morning, around 1:15 a.m., on Durocher Street, in the Plateau-Mont-Royal borough of Montreal.

Shots were fired at the 24-year-old man, who was wounded in the lower body.

Police say he was conscious when he was transported to hospital for treatment.

Following the investigators’ steps, two suspects were identified and arrested by police in the City of Terrebonne on Thursday afternoon. Montreal police (SPVM) found and seized a firearm.

According to the preliminary investigation, the attempted murder was linked to a conflict that escalated between the victim and the suspects, who knew each other.

After their arrest, the 32-year-old man and the 27-year-old woman were interviewed by investigators. The suspects are expected to appear in Quebec Court on Friday.
