Son charged with 2nd-degree murder after man found dead in Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie apartment: report

A 22-year-old man has been charged with murder in the death of a man whose body was found in an apartment building in Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie on Tuesday night.
Lucas Choquette is facing a second-degree murder charge in the death of Marc-Antoine Choquette.
TVA Nouvelles has identified the suspect and victim as son and father.
Lucas Choquette was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday afternoon. The Directeur des poursuites criminelles et pénales (DPCP) could not confirm to CityNews if that court appearance had taken place as of 4:30 p.m.
It would be the fourth homicide in Montreal of 2026.
Montreal police were called to the building on Masson Street near 4th Avenue around 10 p.m. after a 911 call reported an incident at the location.
According to the Montreal police (SPVM), responding officers found a man inside the apartment who was unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators established a security perimeter around the building overnight while forensic technicians analyzed the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
