Worker crushed to death by truck in Montreal’s Saint-Michel

One person has died after being crushed by a truck at a workplace in the Saint-Michel borough Friday morning.

Quebec’s workplace safety board (CNESST) said they received a call about the incident around 8:30 a.m. near Albert-Louis-Van-Houtte Avenue and Jean-Rivard Street.

CNESST said the worker was employed at a factory belonging to Cintas, a uniform maker.

The worker was reportedly in the yard outside the factory when they were fatally crushed by a semi-trailer truck.

“Our inspectors have secured the site and are investigating to understand the circumstances surrounding the death,” said Phuong Anh Ho Huu, spokesperson for CNESST.

CNESST declined to provide further details about the worker involved while the investigation in ongoing.
