Suzuki opens the scoring late in 1st

The Montreal Canadiens and Tampa Bay Lightning are looking to advance to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs, and they each have one more shot to do so.

The most even series across the entire first round is fittingly the only one going to a Game 7, which will be in Tampa, Florida.

The series opened in Tampa, with the Canadiens opening the series with a 4-3 overtime win, which was followed by a 3-2 overtime win for the Lightning. The series then shifted to Montreal, where the Canadiens retook the series lead with a 3-2 overtime win, before the Lightning won Game 4 by a 3-2 score. The Habs would then win Game 5 in Tampa, 3-2, before the Bolts took Game 6 in Montreal, 1-0 in overtime.

Nick Suzuki opened the scoring in Game 1 for the Montreal Canadiens. Suzuki’s goal came off a shot from Kaiden Guhle, which the captain deflected and got some help from a bounce off a Lightning skate, to beat Andrei Vasilevskiy.
