31-year-old man dies after collision in Pointe-Lebel

A 31-year-old man died on Friday night after a road accident in the area of Granier Street, in Pointe-Lebel, on the North Shore.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the single-vehicle collision at around 2:15 a.m.

“According to the first information gathered, the driver, who was alone in the vehicle, lost control for a reason that remains to be determined before ending his race against a residence,” said Frédéric Deshaies, spokesman for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ). No occupant of the residence was injured during the event.”

The driver, 31 years old, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

An investigation is underway. It will shed light on the causes and circumstances surrounding the crash.

According to Deshaies, it is still too early to identify the factors that contributed to this accident.
