Gunshots fired in Montreal’s Griffintown

Shots were fired late Sunday night in Griffintown.
Montreal Police (SPVM) say officers were alerted around 11 p.m. after reports of gunshots heard on Young Street, near William Street.

Officers did not locate any victims or possible suspects when they arrived on the scene. However, shell casings were found on the ground.
Investigators, assisted by forensic identification technicians, worked overnight to analyze evidence and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The SPVM K9 unit was also deployed to assist in the search for additional evidence, while witnesses were interviewed by police.
Investigators are expected to review surveillance camera footage from the area that may have captured the shooting.
No arrests have been made and no suspects have been identified so far.
