9-year-old boy expected to recover after being struck by car while cycling in Brossard

A 9-year-old boy riding a bicycle had to be hospitalized Tuesday evening after being struck by a 47-year-old motorist in Brossard, Montérégie.

According Longueuil Police (SPAL), the incident occurred around 7:45 p.m. on Matte Blvd., near Illinois Ave.

The SPAL provided few details on the sequence of events, limiting itself to saying that “there was a collision between the victim and the driver of a vehicle.”

The boy was taken to a hospital, where medical authorities determined that his life was not in danger.

The SPAL analyzed the collision site for approximately two hours. Its investigators determined that there do not appear to be any criminal elements in this case.
