Transport Quebec says road work will continue on Highway 40 at the Charles-De Gaulle Bridge from June 8 to 15.
Officials say paving and culvert repair work is needed to improve the safety and ride comfort of road users between the Charles-De Gaulle Bridge and Route 341.
Traffic management
The interventions will be carried out during the night in order to limit the impact of the obstructions on traffic.

Charles-De Gaulle Bridge, between Gouin Boulevard East in Montreal and Route 344 (Saint-Charles Road) in Terrebonne:
- Closure of two out of three lanes of Highway 40 eastbound and one out of three lanes westbound from Sunday to Thursday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Friday from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. and Saturday from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m.
- Eastbound traffic will be diverted to the opposite carriageway of the highway (i.e., in the opposite direction), in order to maintain one lane open eastbound and two westbound lanes.
- The speed limit may be reduced to 70 km/h in both directions during closures.
- The width of some lanes could be reduced to 3.5 metres in the construction zone.
During complete closures, the detour routes will be marked with temporary signage. The coordination of the work will be carried out in such a way as to limit the impacts and detours.
Work may be postponed, extended or cancelled due to adverse weather conditions or operational constraints. Thus, before hitting the road, it is recommended to consult Québec 511, a practical tool to properly plan your trips.
