Gunshots fired at vehicle in Montreal’s Sud-Ouest borough

Several shots were fired at a vehicle late Sunday in Montreal’s Sud-Ouest borough. No injuries were reported.

Around 11:40 p.m., witnesses called 911 to report that they had heard “noises that sounded like gunshots.”

When police arrived at the scene, near Galt and Hadley streets, they found bullet holes in a vehicle and several shell casings on the ground.

“No suspects were found at the scene, and no victims have come forward to speak with police,” said Manuel Couture, spokesperson for the Montreal police (SPVM), on Monday morning.

A security perimeter has been established to allow the SPVM to conduct its investigation.

“Investigators will interview witnesses and check for security cameras that may have captured footage related to the incident. At this stage, the circumstances remain unknown, and the investigation is ongoing,” Couture emphasized.

SPVM investigators will be assisted by a K-9 handler, who will search the area to try to find additional evidence.
