Man, 24, hospitalized after attempted murder in downtown Montreal

A 24-year-old man sustained serious injuries to his upper body from a sharp object. He was taken to the hospital.
Emergency services were called to the scene around 3 a.m. Saturday on De la Montagne Street, near Sainte-Catherine Street West, said Raphaël Bergeron, spokesperson for the Montreal police (SPVM).
The suspects fled before police arrived. They are believed to be men between the ages of 25 and 30.
“SPVM investigators will attempt to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the incident. Witnesses will be interviewed, and surveillance footage will be reviewed to determine whether images of the suspect or suspects were captured,” Bergeron said.
As of around 11 a.m. Saturday, no arrests have been made. The victim is considered to be out of danger, police say.
The SPVM’s investigation is ongoing.
