Man seriously injured after a collision on Route 116 East in Longueuil

The man in his 30s who was in critical condition after being involved in a collision on Route 116 East in Longueuil, in the Montérégie region, on Sunday morning “is now out of danger,” the Longueuil Metropolitan Police Service (SPAL) announced this afternoon.

However, he is suffering from “serious injuries,” said SPAL spokesperson Mélanie Mercille.

The accident occurred around 6:15 a.m. near Highway 30, in the Saint-Hubert area. At the time, there were fears for the 38-year-old man’s life.

“The Sûreté du Québec’s collision investigation is complete. However, the SPAL’s investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances of the incident,” said Ms. Mercille.

Route 116 East toward Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville was reopened to traffic in the early afternoon.
