NHL announces 2021 Stanley Cup Final schedule

For the first time in 28 years, the Montreal Canadiens have reached the Stanley Cup Final.

After eliminating the Vegas Golden Knights with a dramatic overtime win in Game 6 of their third-round series, Montreal will now face the defending Stanley Cup champions, The Tampa Bay Lightning in the final battle for Lord Stanley’s Cup.

The Lightning defeated the Islanders 1-0 in Game 7. The lone goal was scored short-handed by Yanni Gourde.

The NHL announced the full Stanley Cup Final schedule on Friday. The puck will drop on the Cup Final on Monday, June 28 in Tampa and a potential Game 7 would be played on Sunday, July 11, if necessary.
