He’s expected to respond to a report released Wednesday by Quebec’s health and welfare commissioner Joanne Castonguay that found the province doesn’t need a public inquiry into the high death toll in long-term care homes during the pandemic’s first wave.
Castonguay said between her investigation, the coroner’s inquest, and the probe by the ombudswoman, Quebec has enough information to make changes to its health system.

The 2 p.m. press conference will include Health Minister Christian Dubé and interim Public Health Director Dr. Luc Boileau.
