Premier Legault: I’m trying to make sure we keep French as a common language in Quebec

“What I’m trying to do, is to make sure we keep French as the common language in Quebec – and to do so -the indicators we have is the language speaking at home, the language speaking when you work, and I would like also to have new indicators about the language speaking in the public place,” said Quebec premier Legault on Wednesday morning when questioned by reporters about if the government is looking to control the language people speak at home.

When pressed on the topic, the premier added, “What I’m trying to do is make sure that we protect the future of French as a common language, that’s it.”
Legault asking a reporter, “would you agree with me Phil, if in 50 years from now nobody is speaking French at home that the future of French wouldn’t be good?”
