The most anticipated event for cyclists in Montreal – incidentally a major headache for drivers – is returning to the city this Sunday.
Cyclists taking part in the annual Tour de l’Île event will bike along a pre-determined 36-kilometre route that passes through nine Montreal neighbourhoods.

The annual event closes down streets in the Plateau, Rosemont–La-Petite-Patrie, Outremont, Côte-des-Neiges–NDG, Sud-Ouest, Verdun, downtown, TMR and Westmount.
The Tour de l’Île lasts five hours, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The route is completely closed to drivers.
There is no specific start or finish line. Instead, there will be three access points where cyclists can begin and end their journey: La Fontaine, MacDonald or Angrignon Park.
The three parks will be equipped with toilets, water, information stands, handwashing stations and first-aid booths.
Participants are required to register and pay before showing up to a starting point.
