Heat warning for Montreal, could reach over 40 with the humidex

A heat warning is in effect for the Montreal area. Environment Canada calling for a hot and humid day, with humidex values reaching 40 or more. UV index 9 or very high.

The warning is also in effect for Laval, Longueuil – Varennes, and Châteauguay – La Prairie.

“Drink plenty of water even before you feel thirsty and stay in a cool place. Reduce your heat risk. Schedule outdoor activities during the coolest parts of the day,” explains the weather agency.

“Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.”

For tonight, increasing cloudiness with a 60 percent chance of showers and a risk of a thunderstorm. Low of 24°C.

On Thursday, more clouds and possible rain and thunderstorms – but still very hot, feeling like 37 with the humidex.

Then sunshine ahead for Friday and Saturdays, with temperatures of 30°C and 32°C.

Showers expected for Sunday and 26°C.
