‘Unacceptable’, Premier Legault denounces SAAQ

The situation at the Société de l’Assurance Automobile du Québec (SAAQ) is “unacceptable”, denounced Premier François Legault, who is demanding corrective measures.
He commented Friday on the problems related to the transfer of services to SAAQclic. This transition is experiencing failures and forces customers to queue at different points of service.
Visibly irritated, the Premier said he was “not at all satisfied with what is happening at SAAQ”.
He said he had discussed it with his transport minister, Geneviève Guilbault, and his minister of cybersecurity and digital technology, Éric Caire.
“There seems to be difficulties in accessing the site, including the authentication part. We’re looking at what we can do to simplify.
“Then, on the flip side, since there are more people in the SAAQ’s physical offices, we need to quickly add employees to meet the demand.
“The situation right now is unacceptable, and I have asked that it be corrected quickly,” he said during an announcement in Rivière-du-Loup.
Launched on February 20, the SAAQ’s new digital platform was intended to allow clients to carry out most transactions remotely.
It was supposed to ensure the autonomy of clients, increase the efficiency of services and avoid the need to travel to service points.
Customers were to be able, for instance, to transfer a license plate from one customer to another, in addition to having access to all their documents in digital format.
