Second stabbing in Montreal’s Village this week

A man was injured in a stabbing in the Village district, Montreal police reported Friday.

A call was made around 4:05 p.m. to report that a man had been attacked at the corner of Ontario Street and Beaudry Street.

When police arrived on scene, they found a 37-year-old man injured in the upper body with a sharp object. He was transported to a hospital, where he is in critical condition.

Information obtained by SPVM officers from various witnesses indicates that an altercation took place between the victim and another man and that, during the altercation, the second individual attacked the man.

An investigation is underway. No arrests have been made.

It was the second stabbing in Montreal’s Village this week. A man in his 30s was stabbed after an alleged altercation with another person on Wednesday afternoon on Alexandre DeSève, in a park near Sainte-Catherine Street.
