New reporting tool for complaints at Centre de Services Scolaire de Montréal

By News Staff

The Centre de Service Scolaire de Montréal (CSSDM) has put a new reporting tool in place to help students, parents, and staff communicate any complaints.

This follows the investigation into Bedford Elementary in Côte-des-Neiges, where a report in early October indicated a group of 11 teachers were part of a toxic climate of fear and intimidation — allegedly humiliating students and imposing their religious views.

They have since been suspended.

The school service centre says that whether you are a witness or a victim, inappropriate gestures and comments have no place in CSSDM schools.

This also applies to reports of sexual violence or bullying.

Reports can be made by calling 514-596-6000 and picking option 0, or you can email info@cssdm.gouv.qc.ca

A team will deal with each report, the information provided will be analyzed, and a rigorous follow-up process undertaken.

If necessary, corrective measures will be put in place and disciplinary action taken.

The report will be treated confidentially by anyone who requests it.
