By The Canadian Press

Two people allegedly involved in vehicle thefts in Montreal were arrested Wednesday morning by the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

During an operation targeting a network exporting stolen vehicles, provincial police arrested a man and a woman in their 40s,

In a statement, SQ said the two suspects could face charges of trafficking and receiving stolen goods, while other charges could be brought later.

The pair remain in custody and will appear at the Montreal courthouse.

The Sûreté du Québec did not specify the role played by the two suspects in the vehicle thefts or the number of thefts in which they were allegedly involved in.
