Suspect arrested in alleged sex crimes at Verdun Beach

Montreal police (SPVM) have arrested a suspect in connection with alleged sex crimes that occurred at the Verdun Beach on July 21, 2024.
A man allegedly approached a group of two men and three women. The suspect asked one of the women for a massage, and she refused. The suspect then began to caress her feet without her consent. The suspect then allegedly began to masturbate in front of the group.
One of the men intervened and called 911.
Reportedly aggressive, the suspect began spitting in the direction of the group and is said to have tried to headbutt one of the men. He then left the scene, while insulting the group.
Police say the 27-year-old suspect turned himself in to police this week. He was released on a promise to appear in court at a later date, subject to conditions.
