Woman stabbed near Longueuil Marina, suspect arrested

A suspect was arrested in connection with the stabbing of a woman in her 30s near the Longueuil Marina on Monday afternoon.

Longueuil Police (SPAL) received a call around 4:10 p.m. about the armed assault, on Chemin de la Rive.

“Our patrol officers were called to intervene near the Longueuil Marina (…) in connection with an altercation involving a knife,” the SPAL said on social media. “A woman in her thirties, injured in the hand, was taken to hospital for treatment.”

The suspect, a 29-year-old woman, fled the scene before authorities arrived, but was then was arrested, the SPAL explained.

“She could face charges of assault with a weapon,” they added.

An investigation is ongoing.
