Montreal police (SPVM) say a 25-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday evening after allegedly stabbing three of his family members in the Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough.
Around 6:45 p.m., police received a 911 call regarding the armed attack in a residence on Jean-Pierre-Ronfard Street near de Contrecoeur Street.
“When the police arrived at the scene, they were able to locate three victims,” Johany Charland, a spokesperson for the SPVM, told CityNews.
She added that the victims were two women aged 29 and 58 and a 32-year-old man.

“All of the victims were wounded to the upper body,” Charland explained. “They were brought to the hospital and there was no danger for their life.”
The suspect was at the scene when officers arrived, and he was arrested.
Initial information from the SPVM suggests that there was a conflict in the family, and for an unknown reason, the suspect allegedly attacked his family members.
An investigation is ongoing.
